State Approved Driver's Education Course
- Classes are offered throughout the year at a variety
of convenient locations.
- Course content includes; Basic and defensive driving techniques, winter driving
and other hazardous road condition skills, effects of drug and alcohol use while operating a motor vehicle, vehicle function
and upkeep, driving distractions (i.e. cellphones, passengers, cd/dvd players ect.) Several other topics are discussed
throughout the course.
- In vehicle driving instruction includes behind the wheel and observation hours.
- Upon
completion of the course students will receive a certificate and driver evaluation form.
- Prior to attending
class all students must have a valid drivers permit, which may be obtained at the DMV located on Peger Road.

Scott Putman Owner and lead instructor, has taught Driver's Education
since 1988 in the Mid-West and Alaska at 14 different high schools.
Mission Statement: The objective of North Star Driver Education School, is
to promote safe driving practices through a quality educational program. It is our goal to provide our students with the
knowledge to become competent, well prepared, courteous and most of all safe drivers. Experienced instructors
offer a highly-organized, multi-media curriculum. We are a state-certified school which is recognized by the Dept. of Education
and the Dept. of Transportation.
